Golf courses

5 onsite golf courses with The championship Blue Monster being world famous and the Greg Norman designed White Course also being superb.

Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa boasts five championship 18-hole golf courses; the legendary Blue Monster, the Greg Norman designed Great White and the distinctive Red, Gold and Silver courses. In addition, golfers from first-timers to PGA pros can improve their game at the Jim McLean Learning Centre.

The Blue Monster Course (Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa)

This marvellous 7,288 yard championship golf course was originally designed by architect Dick Wilson but over the past 20 years has been modified and updated to meet the USPGA standards by Raymond Floyd and world renowned golf instructor Jim McLean. Most recently the greens and bunkers were once again developed and improved under the watchful eye of the PGA Tour for the World Golf Championships, whose inaugural event was played here in 2007. Nicknamed ‘The Monster’, this golf course is an absolute cracker and offers a great challenge. Although the most expensive out of the five, the Blue Monster is the highlight of golf at Doral.
18 Holes, Par 72, Yardage 7288. Parkland.

The Great White Course (Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa)

Designed by the great Australian golfer Greg Norman, the 7,171-yard championship Great White Course is the only one of its kind in the south-eastern United States that utilizes coquina (crushed shells) as the primary design element on every hole. Host to the PGA Tour’s Franklin Templeton “Shoot-Out” in 2000, the National Golf Foundation rated the Great White as the best new golf course of 2000.

Gold Course (Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa)

PGA Tour legend Raymond Floyd recently redesigned the Gold Course to follow a traditional Florida layout, incorporating gently contoured greens, strategic bunkering and water surrounding 16 holes. The golf course features narrow tree-lined fairways and finishes with a dramatic par-4 island green on the 18th hole. Host to the 1999 PGA Qualifying School finals, the Gold Course offers a great test to golfers of all levels.
18 Holes, Par 70, Yardage 6609. Parkland.

Red Course (Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa)

For a round that challenges your mental and physical game, The Red Course forces golfers to use strategy and shot placement rather than bombing drivers all day long. Featuring 14 water holes with fairways winding around several lakes, the Red Course provides breath-taking beauty and exhilarating challenges, without intimidating length. Host of the LPGA in 2001 for the Office Depot Championship, this is another great test in lovely surroundings.
18 Holes, Par 70, Yardage 6101. Parkland.

Jim McLean Signature Course (Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa)

Unique amongst the Doral courses, golf legend Jerry Pate redesigned the Jim McLean Signature Course to break away from a Florida-style layout to include narrow rolling fairways, raised tee boxes and elevated greens. The golf course offers a diverse mix of short and long holes throughout the course, with water coming into play on 16 holes. Designed for all levels of play and featuring a signature 14th hole island green, the course hosted the 1999 PGA Qualifying School finals.
18 Holes, Par 71, Yardage 6557. Parkland.
